All Ladies Threshing Team Are Back!

Last year for the first time in Ireland, possibly the first time in the British Isles or even Europe we had an all female Threshing Team.

Led by Agricultural Student Tara McClure with a number of her fellow students from Loughrey College, Cookstown, gave a first class display of Threshing.

Using “The Leader”, a Boyd Thresher, and using a Jones bailer, both powered by early Fordson tractors, the girls gave an interesting and entertaining demonstration of how to use all the equipment.

The all female team forked the sheaves onto the thresher, fed the thresher, collected the grain in sacks and bailed the straw in glorious sunshine.

Official Programme 2017

This year the rally is departing from the £2 Glossy A5 programme.

Instead a free A4 fold out programme will be given out to all visitors and entrants which will cover all essential information.

Exhibitor's Meal Vouchers

Due to the Financial/Political situation Tourism NI have had their budget cut and are not in a position to give Shane's Castle May Day Steam Rally a grant this year.

Shane's Castle Steam Rally is therefore forced to budget accordingly.

Sadly Meal Vouchers, as at many other Rallies, are no longer affordable.

Please be advised that exhibitors can still use the food outlets on the Rally field but will have to pay for all items.

Exhibitors Applications for 2017 are now closed
